Dear Pam, it’s been an incredibly busy last couple of days. Of course yesterday was my regular work calls followed by an evening in the art gallery and then Saturday I spent the entire day working in the gallery. When busy there is little time left to think about how much I miss you, but rest assured in those quiet moments I do indeed think of you. And when any woman walks by that is around 5–4, 115 pounds with olive skin, tan legs and highlights in their hair I immediately think of you. And believe it or not this happens more than a few times each day which leads me sometimes to ask God to cut out the teases. But then again it’s nice and I enjoying meeting new people. Probably the highlight of the past couple of days was meeting a sweet older couple visiting from Florida. We had the usual discussion about the art and then moved into exchanging some personal stories when I learned this sweet couple had both lost spouses. One was 11 years ago and the other was I believe 5 or 6 years ago. We talked about loss and that old saying of until you’ve walked in my shoes you have no idea. We also laughed about some of the silly things people say to folks that have lost someone. Of course you have to laugh, otherwise you might cry. I told them my favorite quote people like to throw around is “she’s with you, or she’s nearby” to which I always think if you really were near or with me as they say, you are being incredibly quiet because I never hear from you.
